PURPOSE

Dotcon is committed to protecting the privacy of Personal Data of its Workers, Customers, Business Partners, and other identifiable individuals. Dotcon has, therefore, implemented a data protection and privacy program to establish and maintain high standards for collecting, using, disclosing, storing, securing, accessing, transferring, or otherwise processing Personal Data. This Data Protection & Privacy Policy is the foundation of that data protection and privacy program and describes the approach taken by Dotcon when processing Personal Data.

PRINCIPLES

The following sets out the high-level principles that underlie Dotcon practices for collecting, using, disclosing, storing, securing, accessing, transferring, or otherwise processing Personal Data.

  • Fairness: Dotcon shall process Personal Data lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner.

  • Purpose Limitation: Dotcon shall only collect Personal Data for a specific, explicit, and legitimate purpose(s). Any subsequent processing should be compatible with such purpose(s), unless Dotcon has obtained the individual’s consent or the processing is otherwise permitted by law.

  • Proportionality: Dotcon shall only process Personal Data that is adequate, relevant, and not excessive for the purpose(s) for which it is processed.

  • Data Integrity: Dotcon shall keep Personal Data accurate, complete, and up-to-date as is reasonably necessary for the purpose(s) for which it is processed.

  • Data Retention: Dotcon shall keep Personal Data in a form that is personally identifiable for no longer than necessary to accomplish the purpose(s), or other permitted purpose(s), for which the Personal Data was obtained.

  • Data Security: Dotcon shall implement appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard Personal Data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, use, or access. Dotcon shall instruct and contractually require third parties processing Personal Data on behalf of Dotcon, if any, to: (a) process it only for purposes consistent with Dotcon’s purpose(s) for processing; and (b) implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard the Personal Data. Dotcon will never extract your Personal or Amazon data from your account to any local machines. If an export is generated on your account, it will be made with your request, knowledge, acceptance, and for the sole purpose of troubleshooting issues related to exporting. This ‘exported’ data will still only reside on our secure web server.

  • Individual Rights: Dotcon shall process Personal Data in a manner that respects individuals’ rights under applicable data protection laws.

  • Accountability: Dotcon shall implement appropriate policies, processes, controls, and other measures necessary to enable it to demonstrate that its processing of Personal Data is in accordance with this Personal Data Protection & Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

 

WEBSITE VISITORS

Like most website operators, Dotcon collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Dotcon purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Dotcon’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Dotcon may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Dotcon also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our blog or contacting us via our support system. Dotcon only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that commenter IP addresses and email addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the system where the comment was left.

 

GATHERING OF PERSONALLY-IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

Certain visitors to Dotcon’s Website choose to interact with Dotcon in ways that require Dotcon to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Dotcon gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. Those who  engage in transactions with Dotcon are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Dotcon collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Dotcon. Dotcon does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

 

AGGREGATED DATA

Dotcon may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its website. Dotcon may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Dotcon does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

 

PROTECTION OF CERTAIN PERSONALLY-IDENTIFYING INFORMATION 

Dotcon discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Dotcon’s behalf or to provide services available at Dotcon’s website, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Dotcon’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Dotcon will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, Dotcon discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Dotcon believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Dotcon, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of a Dotcon website and have supplied your email address, Dotcon may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Dotcon and our products. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or chat), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Dotcon takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

 

COOKIES

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Dotcon uses cookies to help Dotcon identify and track visitors, their usage of Dotcon website, and their website access preferences. Dotcon visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using Dotcon’s websites, with the drawback that certain features of Dotcon’s websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

 

BUSINESS TRANSFERS

If Dotcon, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Dotcon goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Dotcon may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.

 

ACCESSING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

You can help ensure that your contact information and preferences are accurate, complete, and up to date. For personal information we hold, we will provide you with access for any purpose including to request that we correct the data if it is inaccurate or delete the data if we are not required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may decline to process requests that are frivolous/vexatious, jeopardize the privacy of others, are extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required by local law.

 

DATA HOSTING AND THIRD PARTY

Comments, discussions, and other content submitted to us either by blog, chat support, or email are hosted with third party ‘Intercom’ (intercom.com) in AWS (Amazon) facilities in the USA and protected by AWS security.

Data imports, exports, or any other information collected by our system is hosted and secured with ‘Digital Ocean’ servers in New York USA.

PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Dotcon may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Dotcon’s sole discretion. Dotcon encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
